40th Anniversary in 1997
Established in 1957, the JMA has been engaged in the study of marketing
theories and development of technologies with the cooperation of industrial and academic
circles and has been successful in applying these research results to actual business
practices since its establishment.
The JMA's membership is mainly based on corporate and scholar membership.
The JMA has already established such local chapters as Osake (Kansai), Fukuoka (Kyushu), and Sapporo (Hokkaido), and in the near future it will make every effort to establish additional local chapters for further development of the marketing network in Japan.
In November 1997 JMA is going to celebrate its 40th anniversary by holding an international marketing conference in Tokyo to follow the 6th APMF Directors' Board Meeting in Tokyo or Osaka.
In addition to the well-established Basic Marketing Courses and Specialized Marketing Courses, JMA launched its Marketing Master Program in 1994 as a Japanese version of CPM (Asia Pacific). Its curricula were made under the supervision of university professors, and lecturers were made under the supervision of university professors, and lecturers were 40 experienced marketers from leading Japanese companies. After the 10-month intensive courses, 160 sessions in 20 subjects, and also after the thesis making, the Marketing Master title was warded to 32 successful marketers in September 1995 for the first time in Japan.
