Growing in stature and reputation in India and abroad
The Institute of Marketing and Management (IMM) is an autonomous, non-profit, research, education and membership body registered since August 1969. It is dedicated to making marketing more scientific, utilitarian, and prestigious. It has over 59 Chapters and Study Centres all over the country, with more than 7,500 members in India and abroad.

The Institute is headed by a National Governing Council consisting of eminent persons from political leaders, seniormost bureaucrats, top managers from the private, public and cooperative sectors, and senior individual professionals. The Council is duplicated at each level called the Chapter Council. These Councils lay down overall guidelines and frame policies for professional work for the Institute. The policies are then implemented both at the national and Chapter levels by top class professionals assisted by their secretariats. The overall quality control of the Institute's work is at the level of its headquarters.

Broad areas of work include the following :

  1. Both basic and applied research in the field

  2. Education, including both undergraduate and postgraduate diploma courses through regular classes as well as distance learning

  3. In-house training programs launched for various member organizations and other bodies

  4. Local, national and international conferences on various subjects of concern to the Institute

  5. Executive development programs by way of holding cross-company seminars and workshops

  6. Instituting and giving Awards for Excellence

  7. Bringing out a monthly Journal as well as various other publications from time to time, including proceedings of its annual World Congresses.
