Asia
Pacific Marketing Federation
Description,
Membership Profiles and News-in-brief
Formed
in 1991, the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation (APMF) is a regional
marketing body representing over 25,000 marketing professionals in the
region. The APMF is a co-signatory to the charter which in 1995
formed the World Marketing Federation. The World Marketing Federation
comprises National Marketing bodies like the American Marketing
Association, the European Marketing Confederation and the APMF, with the
primary objective to give marketing a truly global platform and voice.
The
APMF aims at furthering economic development in, and contributing to
the quality of life of consumers in the diverse countries of the Asia
Pacific region through regional professional cooperation, information
exchange on new marketing ideas, experiences, techniques, technologies, and
through collaborative research. The APMF's journal, Roundtable
contains articles, opinion and news of developments in the region: material
for inclusion may be sent to the Secretariat at the address below.
The
APMF benefits from the strong support from sponsor companies throughout the
region.
The
APMF currently comprises 17 national marketing bodies from Australia,
Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, the
Philippines, Singapore, South Africa (Affiliate Member), Sri Lanka, Taiwan
and Thailand, New Zealand, Canada (Affiliate Member).
An
individual who belongs to any of the APMF associations has a ready-made
network of professional marketers available through the APMF. When the
individual is posted to or visits another member-country of APMF, reciprocal
membership rights are conferred for the period of their stay up to one full
membership year. This provides an invaluable instant professional network
without which the individual may be severely disadvantaged or even be
incapable of doing their job effectively and efficiently.

establish Asia Pacific educational accreditation and certification systems for
marketing professionals. The APMF Education Headquarters is located in
Singapore.
